How To Vaccinate Fainting Goats

You may wonder, is there such a thing as a fainting goat? Actually, there is such a thing as a fainting goat. It is a breed of goat where when startled or shocked, the muscles harden for a number of seconds, causing the goat to fall on the ground. But it recovers itself and gets back on its feet shortly. This breed of goat is slightly smaller in size than other breeds. A fainting goat is called other names, such as Nervous Goat, Stiff-Leg Goat and Myotonic Goat, among others. If you have a fainting goat or a number of them in your yard, having them vaccinated will prove to be relatively easy. Just like any other animal, a fainting goat and other breeds of goat must be vaccinated against contagious diseases as well.      Consult a veterinarian. If you have several goats in your herd and you cannot simply afford to have them vaccinated by a veterinarian, you can do the job yourself. First, ask a local vet for the right goat vaccinations and the dosage for each. List them down so you will not forget.
     Buy the vaccines. Once you have been given a list of vaccines and which ones should be administered first, purchase the vaccines and some sterile syringes to be used in administering the vaccines. Just like humans, goats must have separate syringes to avoid any contamination among them.
